Bacteria can form parasites with other organisms, known as pathogens. Majority of human deaths and diseases are caused by infections caused by bacteria which are tetanus, typhoid, syphilis, diphtheria, cholera, leprosy and tuberculosis.  Bacteria also cause diseases in plants and lead to crop destruction, with diseases like leaf spot, fire blight and wilts.  Bacteria also cause infection to skin and other organs.  Bacteria cause food spoilage, consumption of contaminated food can lead to food poisoning.
