ANSWER

Find out the cost of tea and sugar per kg.

To proof

Let us assume that the cost of tea = x

Let us assume that the cost of sugar = y

As given

1 1/2 kg of tea and 5 kg of sugar from a shop. she paid 50rs as return fare for ricshaw.

total expense was 700rs

than the equation becomes

\frac{11x}{2} + 5y + 50 = 700

simply written as

11x +10y +100 =1400

11x +10y = 1300

As given

she placed an order online for 2 kg tea and 7kg sugar.

she paid 880rs

than the equation becomes

2x +  7y = 880

than the two equation becomes

11x +10y = 1300 and 2x +  7y = 880

multiply 11x +10y = 1300 by 2 and 2x +  7y = 880 by 11

we get

22x + 20 y =2600

22x + 77y =9680

subtracted 22x + 20 y =2600 from 22x + 77y =9680

57y = 7080

y = \frac{7080}{57}

y = Rs 124.2 (approx)

put in the equation

2x +  7y = 880

2x + 869.4 = 880

2x = 10.6

x = Rs 5.3

cost of tea =Rs 5.3

cost of sugar =Rs124.2

Hence proved
