Keeping the switch in the off postion touch the bulb to see how warm it is.now press the switch to the on position .touch the bulb aftrr a few second .what do you find? has the bulb become warmer

when the switch is off no change in the temperature of bulb is experienced
but when the switch is in on position the heating effect is experienced by us on touching the bulb the bulb becomes warmer
because when electric current flows through a conductor it produces heat as
heat is directly proportional to square of amount of the electric current
heat is directly proportional to time taken
heat is directly proportional to resistance of the conductor
