Kelvin's present age is 16 years and Timothy's present age is 10 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of Timothy be x

We are given that Kevin is 6 years older than Timothy

So, Kelvin's present age = x+6

Timothy's age 4 years ago = x-4

Kelvin's age 4 years ago = x+6-4=x+2

We are given that  Kevin was twice as old as Timothy.

So, x+2=2(x-4)

x+2=2x-8

10=x

Kelvin's present age = x+6=10+6=16 years

Timothy's present age =10 years

Hence  Kelvin's present age is 16 years and Timothy's present age is 10 years
