Pyramids and cones are alike because
1)They both have a flat bottom.
2)They can slide.
3)The cone can be made if we revolve a triangle.And the pyramids have numbers of triangle faces.
4)A pyramid can become a cone if it has a circular base.

A square based or pentagon based pyramid is a special case of polygon.
If you give the cone and any type of pyramid a 2 dimensional shape then both of them appear as a triangle.
