Kinetic energy is proportional to the square of speed, all things else being equal. So tripled the speed, get 9 times the energy.
Hope this helps you

we know that

kinetic energy=(mv^2)/2

let inital velocity is v

initial kinetic energy=(mv^2)/2*

velocity increase 3time

so new velocity =3v

new kinetic energy=(m9v^2)/2

so

new kinetic energy is increase 9 times initial kinetic energy
