The kinetic theory of gases explains about the hypothetical behaviour of ideal gases.

This theory includes 5 assumptions. According to it's assumptions the gases in the container are always at a random motion. They collide with each other as well as with the walls of the container. These collisions are perfectly elastic. The collisions in which the total kinetic energy of the body remains constant are known as perfectly elastic collisions. It means there occurs no energy change here.
