- Actually kingdom fungi don't have chlorophyll and they are unable to do photosynthesis. In other hand, plant have chlorophyll and they are able to make their own food by photosynthesis.
- They are not included in kingdom plantae because kingdom fungi do not show autotrophic mode of nutrition they show saprophytic mode of nutrition.

- Simple non-green plants which are not photosynthetic. They are heterotrophic and eukaryotic organisms.
- They may be unicellular or filamentous.
- The body of multicellular and filamentous fungus is called a mycelium and composed of several thread like structures, termed hyphae.
- Fungi have a cell wall containing a mixture of chitin and cellulose. Chitin is a tough complex sugar.
