i guess charcoal is the right answer.

when we purchase it, it's black and when we use it means burn it, charcoal turns red.. and at last after using, it turns grey and we throw it.

first pic - black.. newly purchased one xD

second pic - while using.. we usually burn it.

last and third pic - after use.. it turns grey.. ASHH...
