The preparation of food takes place in chloroplast of the plant either by C3 pathway or C4 pathway or by CAM pathway depending upon the type of plant. Therefore chloroplast are called kitchen of the plant cell. The ingredients required for the preparation of food are sunlight, chlorophyll, water and CO2.
