GIVEN:

  • L.C.M of two numbers is 120
  • H.C.F. of two numbers is 10
  • One number is 30

TO FIND:

  • What is the other number ?

SOLUTION:

We have given that L.C.M of two numbers is 120 and their H.C.F. is 10 if the number is 30.

Let the other number be 'x'

To find the other number, we use the formula:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: HCF \times LCM = Product \: of \: two \: numbers \: \star}}}

  • HCF = 10
  • LCM = 120
  • ONE NUMBER = 30
  • OTHER NUMBER = x

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

\sf{\longmapsto 10 \times 120 = 30 \times x}

\sf{\longmapsto 1200 = 30x }

\sf{\longmapsto \cancel\dfrac{1200}{30} = x}

\bf{\longmapsto 40 = x }

  • OTHER NUMBER = x = 40

Hence, the other number is 40
