as we know that

(a+b)²-(a-b)² = 4(a+b)

so ,

(l+m)²-(l-m)²= 4(l+m)

Since \: \: {a}^{2} - {b}^{2} = (a + b)(a - b)
Now ,

 = [(l + m) + (l - m)][(l + m) - \\(l - m) ]\\ \\ = (l + m + l - m)(l + m - l + m)

 = 2l \times 2m \\ \\ = 4lm
