Explanation:

Ladakh is located in the north of the country while Kerala is located in the south. Ladakh is surrounded by the Himalayas and has a cold climate. Whereas Kerala lies close to the Indian ocean and the Arab sea hence has a hot and humid climate.

Ladakh is a cold desert and is one of the union territories of India. It has snow-covered mountains and deep valleys. It remains frozen for almost the entire year and the temperature falls below zero after sunset. The rainfall is scanty, usually below 10 cm annually. Owing to extreme dryness, the vegetation in the region is sparse. However, during the summer season, various trees like apple, walnut, and apricot bloom. Yak and wild goats are reared for their wool. Bhoti or classical Tibetan is the language spoken in Ladakh.

Kerala is an Indian state and has a tropical wet climate. The weather is hot and humid around the year. It experiences torrential rainfall accompanied by gale storms during the summer season. It has tropical evergreen and tropical deciduous forests. Kerala receives a higher amount of annual rainfall- 3107mm. Various trees and shrubs like coconut, cashew, babob, devil tree, etc are found in abundance. The forests of Kerala have animals like elephants, Indian Bison, tiger, panther, Nilgiri tahr, etc. Malayalam is the language that is spoken in Kerala.

Note: Kerala is known for its spices. A wide variety of spices like pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, turmeric, etc are cultivated in Kerala. Ladakh is famous for its Pashmina wool. Ladakh is also known as Little Tibet.

Answer:

The different ways in which the different geographical locations of Kerala and Ladakh would influence the following are:

THE FOOD PEOPLE EAT:

The staple diet of people living in Kerala is fish and rice. The reason for the food they eat is because Kerala is more of a coastal region and a place which is highly suitable for agriculture compared to Ladakh, and their culture is also one of the reasons for their diet. Whereas people in Ladakh eat more dairy products like ghee and butter and use more milk-based products because they live in a cold dessert kind of place where the people rear goats and yaks.

THE CLOTHES THEY WEAR:

The people in Kerala wear cotton clothes due to the humid weather whereas, people in Ladakh mostly wear woolen clothes, cashmere and pashminas.

THE WORK THEY DO:

People in Kerala depend mostly on agriculture and fishing. They cultivate rice crops on a very large scale every year. They also grow a variety of spices, which make this an extremely attractive place for the traders. People in Ladakh on the hand rear sheep and cattle for a living. They collect wool from sheep and sell it to traders in Kashmir. They also depend on selling dairy products as they also rear yaks and goats.
