True, Wular Lake is seasonal, so differs in area size, and has been decreased in recent years with much marginal land being planted with willow. It may have once been the largest lake in India – but while looking at the current figures, Loktak do appears to be slightly bigger, even when Wular is at its current highest area. The area of the Wular lake is about 260 sq.kms and widen with the melting ice in Himalaya.
