Last month I recieved a parcel from a stranger . I thought that something was wrong with that parcel. It was April 1, the day of fools. So I hesitated to open the parcel . A letter which was attached on it said that one who opens the parcel will get good fortunes. It was addressed as a gift to a good and nice boy from SANTA as a summer bonus! What the readers guess is right, the parcel was a prank. So I decided not to open it.
I threw that parcel aside and went out to munch something. I went to a Chinese restaurant and ordered some noodles and a fortune cookie. I love fortune cookies. It always said right for me. Today, to my surprise, the fortune cookie said "open the parcel you get. You'll be showered with fortunes."
I was a bit moved. I was confused. I left the shop and wandered in the streets. I found a fakir giving blessings to people. He stopped me and said to me, " Oh boy, dont waste your fortune. Go and open your parcel."
I was still in confusion. I thought that i was being misled by the fortune and gods. But still I took up a decision to try my luck. I reached my house and opened the parcel. It opened with a boom. "BBBBBOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM" The box was shattered. My face was completely black. It was a prank explosive. It spat out black ash and made me look like an African.
But how will this bring luck to me. Did the fortune cookie lie?
Suddenly, the door opened and my mum and grandmum entered. They saw me with surprise and started laughing. Grandmum said, "Oh my boy! You look so beautiful. I wished to see you in this way in my dream yesterday. Today, it is a dream come true."
Mum said,"Yes, and do you know? When someone makes a dream come true, They should be showered with gifts. Can we go to the shop and buy you gifts?"
I was on cloud nine. I was happy as I knew that the fortune cookie didn't lie. But i will not leave the scoundrel who sent me this prank parcel. But it was a lucky parcel indeed.
