Given :

Weight of Joe's puppy in last month = 5.6 pounds

Weight of Joe's puppy in this month = 8.96 pounds

To Find :

Percentage increase in  the weight of the Joe's puppy = ?

Solution :

The amount of change in weight of Joe's puppy fro last month to this month is :

= 8.96 - 5.6

=3.36

Now the percentage increase  will be given as :

% increase = \frac{change }{initial \hspace 3 weight } \times 100

                   = \frac{3.36}{5.6} \times 100

                   =0.6 \times 100

                   = 60 %

Hence , the weight of puppy increases by 60% .
