Given :-

Last year, oranges were available at Rs. 24 per dozen; but this year, they are available at Rs. 50 per score. Find the increase in percentage of the price of oranges 1 score = 20.

Solution :-

In last year,

Cost of 1doze = 12orange = Rs24

=> Cost of 1 orange = 12/24 =Rs2

In this year,

Cost of 1score = 20oranges = Rs50

=> Cost of 1 orange = 20/50 = Rs2.5

Hence, increase in price % = 2/2.5−2 × 100 = 25 %
