Laws of flotation are...

1) A body floats if its weight is equal to the weight of fluid displaced by its immersed/dipped part.

2) To float in upright position the body must be in the centre of gravity of the floating body and also the centre of buoyancy of the fluid displaced by the immersed part of the body lies on the same straight line.
