Laws are made but neither implemented nor respected.

If there is any country in this big vast world where laws, rules and regulations are flouted so flagrantly, it is India. Such an utter lawlessness prevails everywhere ubiquitously all across India. Nothing is in order! Traffic lights are hardly respected! Traffic rules are not followed in the least! Environment protection laws are ignored! They exist only in books! There is no value of time, especially in the government offices and departments! Police department is inefficient and corrupt! Bribe is the key that opens all the doors in government offices and departments. The media is biased and corrupt too! Medical facilities are unaffordable! Pollution levels are at the peak!  Government is apathetic! Parliament is a real bedlam or pandemonium! Due to all of the above there is nationwide chaos! One just wonders how this country is managing without such lawlessness! May God save our India!

Answer:

Yes, laws are never respected nor enforced in India.

Article 48A of the constitution of India says that "the state shall endeavour to protection and improvement of environment and safeguarding of forests and wildlife".

But the cause of unending distress is the fact that laws are never respected nor imposed in India.

For example, the constitution says that "casteism, untouchability and bonded labour" shall be eradicated, but this has not happened even after forty-four years of the functioning of the Constitution.

A recent report of our Parliament's Estimates Committee has highlighted the appalling exhaustion of India's forests over the last four decades.

India is losing its forests at the rate of 3.7 million acres a year but the actual loss of forests is likely to be about eight times more than this, despite laws.
