int x = 14; int y = 0; return 0; Constant propagation is implemented in compilers using reaching definition analysis results. If all a variable's reaching definitions are the same assignment which assigns a same constant to the variable, then the variable has a constant value and can be replaced with the constant.

The law of chemical proportion is:- The chemical compound always consists of the same elements combined together in the same proportion by mass.  For example:- Water is a compound which consists of two elements hydrogen and oxygen combined together in the same constant proportion of 1:8 by mass (1 part by mass of hydrogen and 8 parts by mass of oxygen)
