Explanation:

if a body is in rest or is not moving ,it will keep being in rest until and unless any external force is applied to it.

And if a body is in uniform motion it will tend to keep moving unless external force is applied to it.

Laws of Inertia, also known as Newton's first law of motion states that

An object will continue to be in the state of rest or in a state of motion unless an external force acts on it.

There are three laws of inertia:-

  • Every object moves in a straight line unless acted upon by a force.

  • The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force exerted and inversely proportional to the object's mass.

  • For every action , there is an equal and opposite reaction.
