An air hockey table, which reduces friction by suspending the puck on a cushion of air, so that it’s motion is much less altered by friction, causing it to glide in a straight line at relatively constant velocity across the table.

The classic trick of quickly pulling a smooth tablecloth from beneath a dining table place setting (plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) while causing little shift in the settings upon the table.
