Democracy has been facing a number of challenges ever since its inception.

A number changes have also been made in the constitution in order to abolish a number of such challenges, like dowry, inequality, castism, right to education etc.

But these changes cannot alone overcome these challenges. They cannot be successful until people change their own mindset.

For instance, it is illegal in India to abort a girl child, but people in India are still biased to have a boy child and treat a girl child with disrespect.
