breadth=x
length=x+4
perimeter=84
2(l+b)=84
2(x+x+4)=84
2x+4=84/2
2x=42-4
2x=38
x=38/2
x=19

breadth=19cm
length=19+4
=23cm...

<b><u><i>Let the breadth of rectangle = x cm

Length of the rectangle = ( x + 4 ) cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 84 cm

Formula :

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

 =  > 84 = 2 \: (x + (x + 4)) \\  \\  =  > 84 = 2 \: (x + x + 4) \\  \\  =  > 84 = 2 \: (2x + 4) \\  \\  =  > 84 = 4x + 8 \\  \\  =  > 84 - 8 = 4x \\  \\  =  > 76 = 4x \\  \\  =  >  \frac{76}{4}  = x \\  \\  =  > 19 = x

If x = 19

Breadth = x = 19 cm

Length = x + 4 = 19 + 4 = 23 cm
