26

Answer:

b = x

l = x+5

p = 26

p of rectangle = 2(l+b)

26 = 2(x+x+5)

26 = 4x+10

16 = 4x

16/4=x

4=x

therefore,

b = 4

l = 4+5 = 9

{\tt{\red{\underline{\large{Given}}}}}

  • A word problem

  • Related to Mensuration

  • Where length of Rectangle is 5 more than its breadth
  • perimeter =26

{\sf{\green{\underline{\large{To\:find}}}}}

  • Length and breadth of Rectangle

Solution

Let the breadth of Rectangle be x

  • Therefore ,Length =x+5

\boxed{\boxed{\sf\red{Perimeter=2(L+B) }}}

According to the question

  • Perimeter =26

\boxed{\boxed{\sf\red{Perimeter=2(L+B) }}}

Putting the values

=>26=2(x+x+5)

=>2(2x+5)=26

=>2x+5=13

=>2X=13-5

=>2X=8

=>X=4

Hence, Value of breadth is 4 and Breadth =9

Additional Information

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

  • Diagonal of Rectangle =√{l²+b²}

  • Perimeter of Square =4 × sides

  • Area of Square = (side)²

  • Diagonal of Square =√2 side
