Answer:

Let breadth (b)= x cm

Length (l) = 3x cm

Perimeter (P) = 40 cm

=> 2(l+b) = 40

=> 2(3x+x)=40

=> 2×4x = 40

=> 8x=40

=> x = 40/8

=> x = 5

Therefore,

Breadth (b) = x = 5 cm,

Length (l) = 3x = 3×5 = 15 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

length=3b

breadth=b

perimeter=40cm

to find length and breadth

perimeter=2(l+b)

40=2(3b+b)

40=2(4b)

40=8b

40/8=b

5= b

length=3(5)=15cm

breadth=5cm
