Hi friend, Here is the required answer:-
Let the breadth be 'x'
And the length =3x-4
Perimeter=l+b+l+b=2(l+b)
72=2(x+3x-4)
72=2(4x-4)
72=8x-8
80=8x
x=10 m
Breadth= 10m
Length = 26m
Area of the rectangular field =l×b=26×10=260 m²
Hope this helps you....

l= 3b - 4----------1
2l  + 2b=72-----------2
1 value in 2,
2(3b-4) +2b=72
6b-8+2b=72
8b-8=72
8b=80
b=10
 b value in 1
l=30-4
l=26
area=lb
area of the rectangular field = 26*10=260 meters

hope it helps!!!
