Given:-

Length of Sample= 30 cm²

Area of Sample=177 cm

Head difference=50cm

Volume of water collected in 5min=350 cm

Find: We have to calculate the hydraulic conductivity of the soil

Step by Step Solution:

We know that By Darcy's law

Q=kiA  ....(i)

i- is the hydraulic gradient= \frac{hl}{l}

k -is the Hydraulic Conductivity

Therefor, Q=\fracd\frac{350}{5\times60} =1.17 cm³/sec

and

i=\frac{50}{30}=1.667

Putting the values in the equation (i) we get

∴1.17=k x 1.667 x 177

k=3.95x10^{-3} cm^{3}/sec

Therefore the correct answer is C) 3,95x10 cm/sec
