let a and b be two finite sets such that n(aub) =12 and(a-b)=24 n(b-a)=45. find n(a) and n(b)

this condition is not possible.

because n(aub) is never smaller than n(a-b) and n( b- a) .

but if I consider

n(a intersection b) = 12 ,then,

n(a) =n(a-b) + n(a intersection b)

= 24+12

similarly, n(b)=n(b-a)+n( a intersection b)

= 45+12=57
