Answer : Given : f(x)=cosx and g(x)=3x^2

a. gof = g{f(x)} = g(cosx) =3(cosx)^2=3cos^2x

b. fog = f{g(x)} = f(3x^2) = cos3x^2

now clearly gof is not equal to fog.

Hope it will help you.

Thank you.
