we are given f(x+1/x) = x^2 +1/x^2
f(x+1/(x+1)x) = x^4+1/x^2
so, f(1/x) = x^4+1/x^2*(x+1)
so, f(x) = x^2*(x+1)/x^4+1
f(x+1/(x+1)x) = x^4+1/x^2
so, f(1/x) = x^4+1/x^2*(x+1)
so, f(x) = x^2*(x+1)/x^4+1
