The modern version of Golf is said to have originated and developed in Scotland. It was a relatively obscure game until the late nineteenth century, when it gained popularity throughout Britain and United States.
A standard golf course will have 18 holes. Golf involves striking a specially designed ‘dimpled’ ball into holes in the golf course, using a club. The game starts by striking the ball from the ‘Tee’ box. Each hole is played only once.
Par is the number of strokes a player is expected to take, to put the ball into a hole.
