Given  \frac{x}{ x^{1.5} } =  8x^{-1}

 \frac{x}{ x^{1.5} } =  \frac{8}{x}

x =  \frac{ 8x^{1.5} }{x}

On squaring both sides, we get

x^2 = ( \frac{ 8x^{1.5} }{x} )^2

x^2 =  \frac{8^2x^3}{x^2}

x^2 =  \frac{64x^3}{x^2}

x^2 = 64x

x = 64.

Hope this helps!
