If the potential difference across the ends of the electrical component is decreased to half the former value with resistance remaining constant then the current will also get halved due to ohm's law which states that current is directly proportional to the potential difference

If V' = V/2
I' = V'/R
= V/2R
= 1/2
Therefore , the current will also become half of its previous value.
