Answer:

5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Dear friend the steps are as follows:

GIVEN THAT:

ar(ABC) = 100cm²,       ar(DEF) = 196cm²,      DE= 7cm

we know that,

ar(ABC) / ar(DEF) = (AB /DE)² = (BC / EF)²= (AC / DF)²

Here

ar(ABC) / ar(DEF) = (AB / DE)²

100/196 = (AB/DE)²

by square root on both sides

√(100/196) = √(AB / DE)²

= 10 / 14 =  (AB / DE)

= 10/ 14 = AB/7

=(10 / 14) x 7 = AB

= AB = 5cm after simplifying....

hope u understood this answer..
