We know that sides of a rhombus are equal
∴ x + x + x + x = y
4x = y
Let x = 1
4 * 1 = y
4 = y
∴ (1, 4) is a point on the graph
Let x = -1
4 * -1 = y
-4 = y
∴ (-1, -4) is also a point on the graph
Plot these 2 points on the graph, join them and you will get the line of this equation.
∴ x + x + x + x = y
4x = y
Let x = 1
4 * 1 = y
4 = y
∴ (1, 4) is a point on the graph
Let x = -1
4 * -1 = y
-4 = y
∴ (-1, -4) is also a point on the graph
Plot these 2 points on the graph, join them and you will get the line of this equation.
