Subject: Overflowing sewer and standing rainwater in our area.
Respected Sir/ Mam,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper Raj, a resident of Dharma colony would like to shine some light on the degrading situation in and around our society after yesterday’s heavy rain.Only after half an hour of rain, the water stopped flowing in to the sewer and drains. As a result, the sewers are now overflowing because they were not cleaned before the rainy season even after we made a request to the municipal corporation. The water is now stagnated on the roads making it impossible to move around in the area. People are walking and riding in half-foot-deep sewer water to carry out routine chores like grocery shopping and office going. This happens every year within a week of the starting of the rain. It is high time that the authorities look into the matter and try to find a permanent solution. I would request you to help us in grabbing the attention of our leaders towards these never-ending rainwater problems.I shall be highly obliged to you.
