letter to editor on lack of awareness of basic health and hygiene among people (200 - 250 words)

Good hygiene is more than just smelling nice and looking clean, it can also reduce the spread of germs and diseases. Good hygiene affects the health of children and the adults they are around every day, either in school or in child care.
It’s important to teach young children and practice good hygiene habits at school as well as at home. The best way a child can learn something is to incorporate it into their daily schedule.
Here are some personal hygiene habits to consider for yourself and for young children:
• Hand washing: Good hand washing that is practiced frequently can help reduce the spread of illnesses and germs. Always remind children to wash their hands before they eat, after they use the bathroom, play outdoors or touching animals.
• Toys: Toys that are carried around constantly may be full of germs from many sources. Cloth toys and blankets should be washed frequently. Plastic toys should be washed through the dishwasher, dipped in a bleach solution, or sprayed with a disinfectant.
• Oral hygiene: Brushing your teeth at least once a day and flossing can prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Knowing how to do these things is learned over time and is improved by practice. Meanwhile, children need help from parents and child care providers.
While we are in the cold and flu season, practicing good hygiene habits could reduce your chances of catching any illness or disease. Staying healthy is everyone’s responsibility.

Subject: Spreading health and hygiene awareness
Sir:
I am writing this letter to spread health and hygiene awareness and a few general health tips with the readers of your daily. The statistics issued by WHO confirm that the general health of the people is going downward. The number of unhealthy and diseased people in all the countries is increasing. India is no exception.
The causes behind this downfall in health can be ascribed to poor hygiene, increasing pollution level, adulteration of food, vegetables, fruits, fast pace of life, dependence on fast food, and general changing life style.
Well, maintaining vibrant health in the contemporary times is possible too. All types of diseases can be kept at bay by maintaining proper cleanliness, doing physical exercise every day, eating natural balanced food, drinking enough water, keeping your thoughts positive, laughing heartily, doing meditation and yoga every day, taking enough sleep every night, etc. are some of the things that can help us stay quite healthy and happy even in the current times.
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I appeal to people to include all the above mentioned in their daily schedule. I hope you will give my ideas enough space in your esteemed daily.
Yours truly,
Amrita
