Dear Latika:
I hope this letter finds you in soaring spirits and vibrant health. I know the sudden transfer of our parents and the subsequent admission in the boarding school has left you sad, forlorn, and lonely. I know you are such a brilliant and brave girl. You will not let the sudden transfer and change of circumstances depress you. I know you will take it positively. You will not let your studies and co-curricular activities be affected in any manner. I appeal to you to study very hard and take part in all the intra and inter-house activities. It is a matter of just one year; and it will just fly. I promise I will come to see you every month. The rest is fine. We are still trying to adjust to the new place. Take care. Mother and father miss you a lot.
Yours affectionately,
Gibran
