Sub- Encroachment of footpath
Respected sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I want to draw attention of concerned authorities towards problem of encroachment of footpaths.
I am president of RWA- kailashpur and fightning with this problem for last 2 years.
This problem is growing rapidly in all parts of the city. One can see vendors and hawkers on the footpaths especially near metro stations, bus stands and market areas. This compels the pedestrians to move on the roads. Roads are already congested.During office hours this creates a big problem. It slows down the speed of traffic and sometimes causes jam. Many accidents also happens due to this.
There are many reports that these encroaches bribe the beat constable and employees of Municipal corporation. In market areas they also pay shop owners to lay their articles in front of shops. This nexus makes them fearless. But main sufferer is the common man,who can't fight with them.
we have written many letters to the concerned department but in vain. All our requests are falling on deaf ears.you are our last ray of hope.I expect that you will understand the glavity of the problem bindly provide some space in your newspaper
Thanking You
Yours sincerely

Subject: complaint; the encroachment of pavements
Respected Sir/madam
Through the esteemed column of your daily newspaper, I want to bring the issue of recent street pavement encroachment by food vendors under the kind concern of the authority.
I am a high schooler from Kolkata's Nabinpally neighborhood. Our neighborhood is one of the most densely populated in the city. Several food vendors have recently encroached on the street pavements and set up their stalls on the footpath. This encroachment made the footpath so narrow that no one could walk freely on it. Furthermore, as a result of their waste, the street and pavement have become extremely dirty. As a result, school students like us must use the road instead of the sidewalks to get to and from school. The road is heavily traveled and thus dangerous to use as a primary walkway.
I hope this issue will be brought to the government through your newspaper and necessary actions will be taken.
Thanking you
Yours Sincerely,
ABC
