India is more beautiful, diverse, generous and welcoming than one can ever imagine. This cannot be understood by just reading, or by just watching videos. Before I give reasons for why this land is so united in its diverse ways, let me state that none of this is possible to understand without seeing and experiencing it with your own eyes. Some of this may make no sense to you, or may seem false, but for people who have lived here, it is the simple truth. One has to live the experience to really be able to explore, define and understand this land of contradictions and opposites.
History -: India has been home to people of all religions living together since centuries. Its a fact that India was primarily a land of Hindus, invaded by Muslim Kings, and then ruled by Britishers, who yet again divided India as their parting gift. Its a fact that there have been multiple religious riots and religious tensions can flare up with the blink of an eye in some parts of the country. Its a fact that there are people who have abused religion for their own selfish gains, causing hurt to millions. Yet, deep inside, people of all religion share a bond which goes back centuries, where people both Hindus and Muslims have lived together and been a part of each others’ daily lives. These same people fought alongside each other in Independence movement for many decades; these same people helped each other’s families when natural disasters stuck and government help was always days, if not weeks and months away (as connectivity of rural India with its cities was poor to non existent in the days of the Raj). Many generations grew up together without witnessing so much as a single incident knowing that there is only each other for support. This background acts as the single most important uniting platform today, man
