In the Lewis theory of acid-basereactions, bases donate pairs of electrons and acids accept pairs of electrons. A Lewis acid is therefore any substance, such as the H+ ion, that can accept a pair of nonbonding electrons. In other words, a Lewis acid is an electron-pair acceptor.

Lewis concept of acids and bases

G.N Lewis (1923) proposed that an acid is a substance which accepts a pair of electrons and base is a substance which donates a pair of electrons.

Lewis bases = H2Ö: , CN-

Lewis acids = BF3 , H+ , Ag+

Hope this helps you !
