3x+5y=9 (add the equations)
5x+3y=7
8x+8y=16 ÷8
x+y=2 equation (1)
3x+5y=9
5x+3y=7 (now subtract both equation)
-2x+2y=2 ÷2
-x+y=1 equation(2)
from equation 1 and 2
x+y=2
-x+y=1
2y=3
y=3/2
subyitute y in equation (1)
x+y=2
x=2-3/2
x=4-3/2
x=1/2
x+y=1/2+3/2=4/2=2
