according to the problem given ,


4x = 5x - 5

5 = 5x - 4x

5 = x

Therefore ,

Required number = x = 5

Let the number be X.

Then the other number be 4X.

According to question,

4 times a number = 5 times a number -5

4X = 5X -5

5X-4X = 5

X = 5.

Hence,

The number be X = 5 .
