lf L+B=17 and L square+B square=169 then what is the value of L and B

Given :
L square + B square = 169.
L+ B = 17 ----(1)
Taking square on both side
(L+ B ) square = 17 square
L ^2 + B^2 + 2LB = 289
169 + 2LB = 289
2LB = 289 - 169
2LB = 120
LB = 120/2
L B = 60
L = 60/B ----- (2)
substitute the eq 2 in eq 1
60/B + B =17
60 + B^2 = 17B
B^2 -17B + 60 = 0
B = 12,5
The value of B is substitute in eq 2
L = 60/12=5
L = 60/5= 12
Then the value of L and B are 12,5 & 5,12
