Differentiate bewteen breathing and cellular respiration.

1..Breathing involves inhale of oxygen from the atmosphere into the lungs and exhale of carbon dioxide from the lungs into the atmosphere ; whereas cellular respiration involves breakdown of glucose into carbon dioxide and water in living cells, releasing energy.

3. How will you differentiate between a stoma and a lenticel?

UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT

The main difference between stomata and lenticels is that stomata mainly occur in the lower epidermis of leaves, whereas lenticels occur in the periderm of the woody trunk or stems. Furthermore, the size of the stomata is determined based on the requirements of the plant while lenticels remain opened.

2. Write down the steps of inhalation and exhalation.

is taken into the blood but carbon dioxide is pushed out in exhalation process from the blood. Due to the effect of intercostal muscles rib cage moves upward and outward in inhalation, while in exhalation the rib cage moves downward.
