Light falls from glass (μ= 1.5) to air. Find the angle of incidence for which the angle of deviation is 90°.

Given :

μ= 1.5

d= 90°

critical angle = sin ⁻¹(1/(μ )= 41.80

maximum deviation which is possible is = 90- 41,80=47.2°

so in the gase case total internal reflection ust have taken place

deviation = 180- 2i=90

2i=90

i=45°
