Let the total number of sweets is X
Then
⇒3/4 of X is given to mary
⇒1/6 of X is given to chris
⇒And the remaing are 89
Looking at the results we got, If we subtract these values from the the number X we may get 89
X-(3/4x + 1/6x)=89
X-11/12x = 89
1/12x= 89
X=1068
Then
⇒3/4 of X is given to mary
⇒1/6 of X is given to chris
⇒And the remaing are 89
Looking at the results we got, If we subtract these values from the the number X we may get 89
X-(3/4x + 1/6x)=89
X-11/12x = 89
1/12x= 89
X=1068
