hmm, here when you substitute 1 it's of 0/0 form. So, you can use L hospital rule.
Differentiate numerator and denominator separately by x , then you get
limit x tends to 1 3x^2
now by substituting 1 you get the Answer as 3.
Aliter: x^3-1=(x-1) (x^2+x+1).
then by cancelling x-1 in numerator and denominator and then by substituting 1 in x^2+x+1 you get Answer as 3.
