Explanation:

Limitations of excrating energy

(a) To generate electricity form wind energy we need the wind speed to be more than 15 km/hr. Moreover, the number of windmills needs to be large.

(b) To extract energy from waves we need strong ocean waves which are not available always.

(c) To extract energy from tides we need high tides which depends on the relative position of Sun, Moon and Earth.

Answer:

Limitations of extracting energy from the wind: Wind flowing with a sufficient speed is not available everywhere and all the time. Thus wind is not a dependable source of energy. The kinetic energy of wind (wind energy) can be used only at the site of windmill.
